It takes more than the mattress to solve painful back problems. The best thing you can do for lower back pain relief is to start doing a set of lower back pain exercises that loosen the muscles that have taken your body out of alignment. It’s usually the muscles attached to your pelvis – hamstrings, buttocks and groin that first take your pelvis out of alignment and then the bones above it.
When that happens, ligaments, tendons and muscles in your lower back are stretched beyond their pain threshold. Discs get squeezed and when they become herniated you can’t sneeze or cough without if feeling like someone is ramming red hot poker in the middle of your back.

Fixing the problem involves reversing the events that led to the misalignment in the first place.
